The story of how the Land of Love meditation was created is a wonderful example of my own experience with the Inner Self.
I was asked to help two children – an infant and a toddler – who’d been physically abused. Because they were too young for traditional therapy, I needed to find another way to heal the psychological and emotional pain from that past event that continued to produce sleep, mood and other disturbances in their present experience. I had to somehow reach into the inner consciousness of these children, and erase the memory of the abuse. Because I had no idea how I was going to do this, I had to make room for my own Inner Self to provide the answer. As I did, I was given the entire meditation, effortlessly. In it, the children were introduced to their Fairy Godmother who took them on a journey to the Land of Love, where the trauma could be healed and the children’s sense of worth, peace and safety could be restored.
The effect for these children was immediate and powerful. It can be for you as well. For even though the meditation was originally created for young children, I soon discovered that it is a powerful, healing tool for people of all ages. The story of Cinderella is evident in some form in all cultures around the world, because the Fairy Godmother is a universal symbol of the Inner Self – that Being within each of us that will respond to our needs – whatever they are. Even if you were never abused, many of us had painful experiences growing up that continue to affect us now. Let yourself be taken to the Land of Love, and allow your own Inner Self to transform any early memories you may still carry, that keep you from experiencing the peace of mind and the love that you deserve.
